DeepChem Minutes

India/Asia/Pacific Call

Date: July 8th, 2021
Attendees: Bharath, Alana, Arun, Vignesh, Ashwin
Summary: Bharath has been dealing with a personal emergency so hasn’t had much time to work on DeepChem this week.

Ashwin is done with the USPTO loader (except for merge) and is now working on the reaction transformer.

Arun’s PR for molecular featurizer documentation improvements has been merged and he has put in a new PR to improve materials featurizers. He’s now working on improvements to CONTRIBUTING.md and on a tutorial for material featurizers.

Vignesh has merged in his large PR improving the build system for DeepChem and overhauling the CI.

Alana is working on figuring out the mysterious join() error on the FASTALoader and is also working on adding sharding FASTALoader. Alana needs to add unit tests to the sharded fasta loader and then it should be ready to merge.

Americas/Europe/Africa/Middle East

India/Asia/Pacific Call

Date: July 9th, 2021
Attendees: Bharath, Peter, Kevin, Stanley, Seyone, Atreya, Shubhandra
Summary: Bharath gave the same update as at the last meeting.

Peter has been reviewing PRs and put up a minor PR for matminer.

Stanley has been catching up on the protein-GSOC project Alana is leading and has some new material for the bioinformatics tutorial that he’s working on.

Kevin wanted to follow up on the github issue designing improvements to the logging infrastructure. Kevin wanted to know how long it would take for a Logger base class to be put together. Peter said this should be very simple to do and could just be part of Kevin’s PR since it’s just an interface.

Seyone has been working on making fixes to RobertaFeaturizer.

Shubhandra has been trying out the molecular docking tutorial.
